Black Orcs

Ok finally all built, took a little longer than expected but Ill post a little review on my thoughts on the models themselves. But firstly some pics of the models!

A Few Random Boyz

Spru's- gives you all the neccesitys to create two full command squads and a veriet of weapons, fairly easy to cut and not alot of mold lines

Assembly- This is where it gets tricky :/  the legs fit in to specific torsos which makes them fairly easy to lock in,some need a little bit of a wiggle to find the right positioning, and while this makes it slightly easier to assemble it also severly decreases modified posing without heavily relying on gree stuff and carving. But the poses themselves are fairly good.... But the other tough thing, each orc is BIG which looks awesome! long tusks and huge weapons makes it card to get them to fit base to base with their fellow boyz though and this takes a little practice and planning to get them to assemble them so they fit rank and file, which kind of causes some breaking and repostioning.

All in all they were pretty fun to assemble with a fairly good veriet of weapons, also with all of you 40k orc fans, bust out your spus becasue some of the weapons on your space orcs work great, my champion has a saw from the Rokkit boy spru, and alot of the blades can be switched out with some fancy modifications, also for an rather expencive conversion project you can potentially use the black orcs to make 'Ard Boyz but thats a whole other project entirly and dosnt fall into the Wargamming on a Budget catagory XP

Boss Progress

Hey guys, so didnt get as much as I wanted this weekend but I thought I would post a pic of how Gobstoppa was coming along.

There are still more details to work out, some drybrushing and more base work but things are moving in a generally forward direction. The black orcs are almost fully built, and Ill be doing a movement tray tutorial when I get them all done. Stay tuned Ill have more in the future!

A pleasant Mistake

Looks like amazon lied to me, I was told they would be here next Tuesday but Im far from complaining.

New Army new fun!

Hey guys It has been quite a while since I have painted or blogged and I thought It might be fun to get it up and running again, its a great way to stay motivated! So I dug out my old Skull Pass gobbos and took just one look at some of the new units (especially the Aracknarok) and knew I had to start my own ripples in the green tide. So To start I have my first block of Gobbos Thirty Strong Six wide.

 First Three ranks have had the red cloth washed and Highlighted and only the first rank have had any work done on their faces but there are quite a few more detales to get done, The one on the far right is close to what the finished product will look like! Im going for a Spider cult look, as These are similar colors I will use for the arachnids.

I Started working on a shammy as well, stopped by the home depot to grab some polystyrene, fun fact look for scraps on the ground, or by the sheets, they will most likely give them to you for free, I snagged a five foot piece and now have plenty to work with. I modeled The shaman up on a jutting rock as I think I will with all my characters to make them stand out and add more character to the pieces.

 

 

So I will keep on posting as I make progress and would love to here any critiques, tips tricks and comments you guys have. I Have a unit of Black Orcs coming in the mail later this week and will try to post some stage by stage pics, Stay Tuned!!!
